The newly founded Helmholtz Institute for One Health (HIOH), together with its founding partners, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, the University of Greifswald, Greifswald University Medical Centre and the Friedrich Loeffler Institute, Federal Research Institute for Animal Health, forms a new centre for One Health research in Greifswald.
On this occasion, the 27-28 April 2022directly after the opening ceremony of the new institute, the first joint One Health Conference in Greifswald (OHCG 2022) will take place. The conference is organised with other local partners: the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Research and Technology and the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg.
The aim of OHCG 2022 is to promote interdisciplinary interaction and collaboration between the different approaches and directions of human, animal and environmental health within One Health research, as a prerequisite for the further development of the entire research field.
The OHCG 2022 will be organised in three sessions:
Session 01 - Interactions between pathogen, host and environment
Session 02 - Past, present and future of zoonotic events
Session 03 - Antimicrobial resistance, vaccinology and prevention
The planned digital conference is taking place as part of the "DFG Ideas Competition - International Research Marketing", which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
